Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai engaged in traditional farming on 17 August 2026 at his native village, Bagia, in Jashpur district. He plowed his field using a pair of bullocks to perform biyasi—the process of loosening soil in standing paddy crops.
The Chief Minister shared that returning to his land and engaging in manual agricultural work brings immense personal satisfaction. Raised in a farming family, he noted that agriculture represents a way of life and an enduring value system rather than a mere source of livelihood. Rural life and manual labor, he added, instill respect for hard work, harmony with nature, and strong cultural roots.

The Chief Minister highlighted the central role of agriculture in the state’s socio-economic structure and cultural identity. Generations of farmers have sustained the regional economy, with local festivals and customs deeply tied to crop cycles.
Emphasizing the need to remain connected to traditional farming practices in modern times, he praised the agricultural community for supporting the regional economy. He offered prayers for the prosperity of local farmers and a bountiful harvest across the state.
