Spa operator, manager booked under PITA Act in Raipur

RAIPUR: Raipur Police raided a spa in Devendra Nagar on 10 September 2026 and booked its operator and manager under the Immoral Traffic (Preventive) Act (PITA).

A joint team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Snehil Sahu, comprising personnel from Civil Lines and Devendra Nagar police stations, raided Ishwa Luxury Spa Center following directives from senior officials of the Central Zone, Raipur Police Commissionerate.

Police seized objectionable items from the premises during the search. Investigators found that the spa operator, Harvinder Singh Grover, a resident of Tikrapara, and manager Mukesh Kumar Verma, a resident of Bhilai-3, brought women from other states to run a sex racket.

During questioning, women employed at the facility confirmed that the operator and manager forced them into sex work.

Devendra Nagar police registered Crime No. 152/2026 against Grover and Verma under Sections 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Preventive) Act, 1956.
