Mungeli SP orders swift action on cyber fraud and crimes against women

Raipur
Mungeli Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel has instructed police officers to expedite investigations into pending cases, crimes against women, and cyber fraud.
Chairing a crime review meeting at the composite building on Saturday, 20 June, the Superintendent of Police directed gazetted officers, station house officers (SHOs), and outpost in-charges to maintain law and order across the district.

The Superintendent of Police asked officials to fast-track cases related to missing children and crimes against women. Reviewing the ongoing ‘Operation Muskaan’ for the recovery of missing minors, he directed police personnel to trace missing children promptly and reunite them with their families safely.
He instructed officials to clear routine complaints within seven days and long-pending complaints within 15 days. He also ordered the timely resolution of pending cases registered under Section 193 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), previously Section 173(8) of the CrPC, and unresolved accidental death (marg) inquiries. Supervisory officers were told to conduct regular field visits to monitor law and order.
Emphasising smart policing through the beat system, the Superintendent of Police asked personnel to build community relations and raise awareness about drug abuse, traffic regulations, and digital financial frauds.
The Superintendent of Police issued directives to conduct cybercrime awareness campaigns for students and the general public at schools and public places. He instructed the staff to ensure speedy redressal of grievances received through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCCRP) and the helpline number 1930.
He highlighted the use of the Grievance Redressal Mechanism (GRM) and Money Restoration Module (MRM) under the NCCRP framework. This allows citizens whose bank accounts are frozen due to jurisdictional overlaps to unfreeze them online via coordination between banks and the police stations concerned. Under the MRM, police officers can facilitate the restoration of defrauded money to victims without waiting for long court procedures.
The meeting was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Navneet Kaur Chhabra, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Pathariya) Harwinder Singh, the reserve inspector, and all station house officers and branch heads of the district.
