CM Sai slams opposition, terms no-confidence motion an insult to public mandate

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai gave a sharp reply to the opposition during the discussion on the no-confidence motion in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. Known for his simple and soft-spoken nature, the Chief Minister adopted a strong stance, sending a clear message to political rivals. His address inside the House charged up the treasury benches and pushed the opposition on the back foot.
While a no-confidence motion is a constitutional right of the opposition in a parliamentary democracy, the Chief Minister termed it a reflection of political frustration and moral defeat. Instead of merely responding to allegations, he presented a performance report of his government.
The Chief Minister stated that the motion was not against the government but was an insult to the mandate of the three crore people of Chhattisgarh. Citing the clear majority in the recent Assembly Elections, the victory in 10 out of 11 Lok Sabha seats, and the subsequent successes in the Urban Body Polls, he said the public has repeatedly rejected the opposition.
The Chief Minister countered the Congress party by listing major ground statistics and welfare initiatives. He questioned whether the opposition doubted the 25 lakh farmers receiving the historic price of ₹3,100 per quintal for paddy procurement, or the over 70 lakh women receiving monthly financial assistance under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana.
The debate highlighted a decisive approach in the state leadership. The Chief Minister highlighted the contrast between the governance of the previous five years and the current administration. He reaffirmed that the government will remain focused on its development agenda, indicating a stable future for the state under a determined leadership.
