In line with the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) nationwide membership drive, a state-level meeting and workshop were held on Tuesday at the BJP office in Kushabhau Thakre Complex, the state capital. The event witnessed the presence of prominent leaders including BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai, State President Kiran Singh Deo, Regional Organization General Secretary Ajay Jamwal, State Organization General Secretary Pawan Sai, and State In-Charge of the Membership Campaign Anurag Singh Deo. The leaders provided guidance to attending office-bearers and public representatives on effectively executing the membership campaign.

Addressing the gathering, Arun Singh emphasized the commencement of what he termed an “organizational festival,” urging members to participate with full enthusiasm. He highlighted the favorable political environment with Narendra Modi’s third term as Prime Minister and the BJP’s governance at both central and state levels. Singh underscored the need to renew expired memberships and enroll new members to contribute to India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.

Singh recalled the sacrifices of leaders like Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and stressed the party’s unwavering commitment to its ideology, exemplified by the abrogation of Article 370 and hoisting the national flag at Lal Chowk. He detailed the membership campaigns of 2014 and 2019, announcing that the current drive would be conducted online. Members are encouraged to share literature highlighting government achievements and the party’s principles during the enrollment process.

Elaborating on the online membership process, Singh explained that individuals without smartphones could give a missed call to receive a link for registration through another device. He set a deadline of August 31 for booth-level meetings to organize the campaign effectively. Targets have been assigned to MPs, MLAs, Zilla Panchayat presidents, and mayors to visit each booth and enroll members. Each Lok Sabha constituency is tasked with enrolling 100 prominent individuals, with an additional 20 members to be enrolled in honor of Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth centenary year. Singh also highlighted the use of various mediums and social media platforms to promote the campaign and create a conducive environment for increased membership.
Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai echoed Singh’s sentiments, urging party workers to celebrate the membership campaign as an organizational festival. He emphasized focusing on areas where the BJP has a weaker presence and garnering support from all sections of society. Sai highlighted the achievements of both state and central governments and stressed the BJP’s commitment to a corruption-free Chhattisgarh, noting that those involved in corrupt practices are being brought to justice.
State President Kiran Singh Deo described the workshop as crucial for efficiently executing the membership drive’s various phases. She emphasized the importance of swift action, aiming to complete the campaign within two to two and a half months, significantly shorter than previous drives. Deo called for prioritizing the membership campaign to fulfill Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India and to solidify the BJP’s status as the largest political party.
Regional Organization General Secretary Ajay Jamwal highlighted the opportunity to celebrate the organizational festival after a decade, despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and election schedules. He stressed achieving membership targets between September 1 and October 31 by conducting meticulous booth-level visits to collect precise data. Jamwal reiterated the dedication and commitment of party workers as fundamental to realizing the vision of an invincible and developed India.
The workshop set the stage for an intensive membership drive aimed at expanding the BJP’s reach and consolidating its support base across the nation, with leaders urging collective effort and dedication from all party members.
