PM Lauds Chhattisgarh Blackbuck Conservation in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, State Calls It Historic Recognition

Raipur. Narendra Modi on Sunday praised Chhattisgarh’s blackbuck conservation efforts during the 133rd episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, calling attention to the state’s growing role in environmental protection.

Reacting to this, Kedar Kashyap described the mention as a historic moment for the state, saying it reflects national recognition of Chhattisgarh’s conservation model.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai watched the programme at a polling booth in Raipur’s Bhatagaon and expressed pride on behalf of the state’s three crore citizens. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s strong connect with 140 crore Indians, noting that the programme showcases grassroots innovations and achievements from across the country.

The Chief Minister also welcomed the Centre’s decision to reclassify bamboo from ‘tree’ to ‘grass’, stating that it will make harvesting, transportation, and sale easier, thereby boosting rural incomes.

Forest Minister Kashyap credited the success of blackbuck conservation to the government’s sustained efforts, the forest department’s proactive approach, and strong community participation. He added that the state prioritises biodiversity conservation through modern technology and continuous monitoring.

Kiran Deo listened to the programme in Kaliyur village of Jagdalpur and called it a source of inspiration, emphasising its focus on public participation in nation-building. Meanwhile, Tokhan Sahu and Dharamlal Kaushik attended the broadcast in Sargaon.

Following the programme, the BJP organised a ‘Tiffin Meeting’ in Raipur, where Chief Minister Sai shared a meal with party workers, serving traditional dishes like bhaji, tomato chutney, phara, and dhuska-bada. He said such gatherings help strengthen bonds and organisational unity among workers and should be held regularly.
