PRSU women’s kabaddi team qualifies for all-India tournament second year in row

RAIPUR: Pt Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU), Raipur, secured a berth in the All India Inter-University Women’s Kabaddi Tournament for the second consecutive year after finishing in the top four at the East Zone Inter-University Kabaddi (Women) Tournament 2026–27. Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur, hosted the regional event.

A total of 38 university teams from across the eastern region participated in the championship. PRSU cleared the preliminary rounds to reach the final four stage, confirming its qualification for the national competition.

The qualified squad members are Chandni Sahu, Suhani Sahu, Takeshwari Sahu, Kumari, Ritika Sahu, Leena Kashyap, Indrani, Anamika, Chanda, Chandni, Prerna, Pushpanjali, Shruti, and Kavita Bharti. Pyarelal Sahu served as the team manager, while Dhehrin Dhruw coached the side.

PRSU Vice-Chancellor Prof Sachchidanand Shukla congratulated the players, coaching staff, and management for the achievement. Physical Education Department Director Dr Reeta Venugopal, Prof Rajiv Choudhary, Prof C D Agashe, and faculty members extended their best wishes to the team for the upcoming national tournament.
