Durg Police’s Cyber Jagriti Campaign Wins Second Place at State Level

RAIPUR: Durg Police have been awarded second place at the state level for their Cyber Jagriti Campaign, which ran from August 15 to October 2, 2026. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma presented the honour at a state-level ceremony held at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Manish Shankar Chandra, the campaign’s nodal officer, accepted the award on behalf of the district police. Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam and Additional Director General Amit Kumar were also present.

During the campaign, Durg Police held 64,840 programmes across the district, reaching 32,46,001 people. Officers took the message to schools and colleges, village chaupals, street plays and cultural events, teaching residents about cyber safety, responsible digital behaviour and how to avoid online fraud.

The awareness drive covered online scams, fake calls, suspicious links, digital payment fraud and the dangers of sharing confidential banking details.

After receiving the award, Durg Police urged residents to stay alert to cyber threats. They advised people never to share OTPs, ATM PINs, passwords or bank details with strangers and to avoid clicking on suspicious links.

Victims of cyber fraud should report it immediately on the national cybercrime helpline 1930 or through the official portal: www.cybercrime.gov.in.
