Raipur: Security forces foiled a major Maoist conspiracy on 21 February 2026 by recovering an arms dump and several Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) during an anti-Naxal operation in the district. The recoveries were made during a search and area-domination exercise in the forests of Neelamadgu village, under the jurisdiction of the Farsegarh police station.

Personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 214 Battalion, based at the Kandlaparti-2 camp, conducted the operation. During the demining process, the B/214 unit and the Bomb Disposal Detection (BDD) team detected 16 beer bottle IEDs and one pressure cooker IED weighing 5 kg.
The BDD team destroyed all the recovered explosives on the spot, following established safety protocols.

Material seizure
In a subsequent search operation, the forces discovered a plastic drum buried underground. The dump contained various materials used by the insurgents, including:
Technical equipment: Flexible wires, multimeters, iron soldering rods, wire cutters, M-seal, and 1.5V (AAA) pencil batteries
Logistics: Ropes, DC motors, and medicines
Maoist gear: Uniforms, magazine pouches, and literature including pamphlets
Police officials stated that intensified patrolling and search operations continue in the region to thwart further subversive activities.
