School Keinta initiative brings education to remote Abujhmad villages

Raipur: The administration’s ‘Sewa Sankalp’ and ‘School Keinta’ initiatives in the remote reaches of Narayanpur district have helped enrol over 2,000 children into mainstream education by opening 34 alternative primary schools in unreachable areas.

Children in Ghamandi village, falling under the Garpa cluster center, previously walked nearly 10 km through dense forests and rocky terrain to reach the primary school in Kodenar. Due to the long distance and difficult geography, many children were unable to attend classes regularly.

To resolve the issue faced by villagers for generations, the district administration started an alternative primary school directly in Ghamandi village. The school currently has 30 enrolled students. Local education volunteer Kosa Ram Vadde teaches the children, ensuring regular attendance and smooth functioning of the school.

The administration also distributed caste certificates to 22 children enrolled at the Ghamandi alternative school during the previous academic year. The issuance of these documents at their doorstep will enable students to access government scholarships, educational schemes, and civic benefits.

The ‘School Keinta’ campaign aims to ensure school enrolments, strengthen local teaching arrangements, and facilitate essential documentation for children in remote tribal regions.
