Raipur
An IED blast in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district left a District Reserve Guard (DRG) soldier injured. The explosion caused severe injuries to his leg. His teammates provided first aid at the spot before transferring him to the district hospital for advanced treatment. The incident occurred in the Chintalnar police station area.
According to reports, a new security camp was recently established in Raiguda, Chintalnar. On the morning of November 24, a DRG team set out from the camp for an area domination operation. Between 11 and 12 PM, while conducting a search, one of the soldiers, Podiya Vinod, stepped on a pressure IED, triggering a powerful explosion.
The blast caused significant injuries to the soldier’s leg. However, the other soldiers were unharmed. Teammates immediately evacuated the injured soldier to the camp and then to the district hospital. His condition is now reported to be stable. The IED was planted by Maoists in the area to target security personnel.
This incident comes two days after a major encounter in Sukma, where police neutralized 10 Maoists, including three women. All the deceased were identified, and they collectively carried a bounty of ₹40 lakh on their heads.
