AIIMS Raipur hosts national workshop on assisted reproductive technology

Raipur: The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at AIIMS Raipur organised the GENOVIA–ISAR National Postgraduate Teaching Initiative on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) on August 1, 2026. The one-day academic programme, held under the aegis of the Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (ISAR), provided specialised training in infertility management and reproductive medicine to postgraduate students.
Inaugurating the event as the chief guest, AIIMS Raipur Executive Director Lt Gen Ashok Jindal (Retd) highlighted the institute’s efforts to establish Chhattisgarh’s first government-sector In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) Centre. He said the upcoming facility would provide advanced fertility treatment at affordable rates for couples across the region.
AIIMS Raipur Medical Superintendent Prof. (Dr.) D. K. Tripathy and Dean (Academics) Prof. (Dr.) Eli Mohapatra attended the programme as guests of honour. Head of the Department Prof. (Dr.) Sarita Agrawal delivered the welcome address, stressing the importance of structured training in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) to tackle the rising burden of infertility.
The workshop featured technical sessions on reproductive physiology, ovarian stimulation protocols, IVF laboratory workflow, male infertility, ultrasound monitoring, legal aspects, and referral strategies through expert lectures and case discussions.
During the academic sessions, ISAR Chhattisgarh Chapter Chairperson Dr. Jyoti Jaiswal, Vice-Chairperson Dr. Pragya Survanshi, and AIIMS faculty members including Dr. Verunika, Dr. Nilaj, Dr. Satyadev, Dr. Nisha, and Dr. Pushpawati shared their clinical expertise and practical insights with the participants.
