Raipur police seize cannabis worth over ₹19 lakh, two arrested

RAIPUR: In a major action against illegal drug trafficking, the Raipur Police Commissionerate’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and Telibandha Police seized 191 kg of cannabis (ganja) worth over ₹19.10 lakh from a truck and arrested two accused during a joint operation.
Acting on a specific tip-off, the police intercepted an Ashok Leyland truck on the service road near Agrasen Dham under the jurisdiction of Telibandha Police Station. During the search, officials recovered 191 kg of cannabis concealed inside the vehicle. The contraband along with the truck was seized.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammad Lal and Mohammad Rustam, both residents of West Bengal. A case has been registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway to identify the drug supply network and other individuals involved in the trafficking racket.
