
Durg, July 11, 2024 — District administration, Durg with UNICEF and Agricon Foundations successfully organized the “Coffee with Collector” program for Yuvoday volunteers at the Forest Millet Café. This event marked the one-year anniversary of the Yuvoday initiative, a program aimed at inspiring youth and promoting volunteerism.

Launched on June 7, 2023, the Yuvoday initiative was a joint effort by the district administration and UNICEF to increase community participation in district administrative programs and engage youth in various social issues. Over the past year, Yuvoday volunteers have actively contributed to community mental health, addiction, cleanliness, menstrual hygiene management, nutrition, adolescent health, environmental protection, education, ANC checkups, and more. They also played a significant role in voter awareness programs during the assembly and parliamentary elections and in the application process for the Mahtari Vandan Yojana.Collector Ms. Richa Prakash Chaudhary began the Coffee with Collector program by appreciating the work of the Yuvoday volunteers and praising their contributions to society.

“The Yuvoday initiative has provided our youth with an opportunity to better themselves through community service,” she said.The Yuvoday volunteers shared their one-year journey, explaining how the initiative not only gave them a chance to serve the community but also provided personal development opportunities. Some volunteers shared their experiences, saying, “This initiative has given me the opportunity to understand the needs of society and work for them. During this time, I have learned many new skills and felt an increase in my confidence.
Yuvoday has taught me that small steps can bring about significant changes in society.”The program also highlighted various social projects that Yuvoday volunteers have worked on, including important work related to education, health, cleanliness, and environmental protection. The event concluded with Collector Ms. Richa Prakash Chaudhary presenting certificates to the volunteers.UNICEF SBC Specialist Mr. Abhishek Singh said, “The dedication and enthusiasm of the Yuvoday volunteers are truly inspiring.
