Raipur: The Raipur Municipal Corporation has ordered all slaughterhouses and meat shops to remain closed across its municipal limits on Sunday, November 8, 2026, on the occasion of Mahavir Nirvan Diwas.
The order has been issued in compliance with directives from the Chhattisgarh Government’s Urban Administration and Development Department.
Mayor Meenal Chaubey has directed civic officials to ensure strict enforcement of the ban. Zone health officers and zone sanitation inspectors will conduct regular monitoring in their respective areas to prevent any violation.
Municipal teams will inspect hotels, restaurants and shops across the city. If anyone is found selling meat during the restricted period, the stock will be seized immediately, and appropriate action will be taken against the individuals or establishments involved.
