Rahul Gandhi’s Quirky Train Journey: Conversations, Queries, and Conundrums
Dispatch News.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who embarked on a Chhattisgarh tour, opted for a train journey on Monday, covering a whopping 117 kilometres from Bilaspur to Raipur. During his voyage, he engaged with fellow passengers, discussing their various problems. In a surprising turn of events, he even chatted with some female hockey players who happened to be on the same train.
After a riveting Congress residence conference in Bilaspur, Rahul Gandhi decided to experience the joys of train travel in a sleeper coach of the Intercity Express. With the clock ticking, they arrived at the Raipur railway station around four to six in the evening. Accompanied by CM Bhupesh Baghel and in-charge Kumari Selja, Rahul’s journey took an ordinary turn as he travelled amongst the masses, mingled with folks, and probed them for their grievances.
Adding a touch of glamour to his train escapade, he generously purchased chocolates and chips for the students onboard.
In his rare moments of interaction, Rahul Gandhi probed one female athlete about her chosen sport and received the response that she played hockey. He went on to inquire about her playing position. The response was ‘central position,’ naturally. The players didn’t miss the chance to voice their demand for proper turf on their training grounds.
Before engaging in his rail adventure, Rahul Gandhi hosted a meeting in Bilaspur, where he targeted the government. He questioned the mysterious connection between Modi Ji and Adani-Ambani.
From the stage of the housing conference in Takhatpur, Bilaspur, Rahul didn’t hold back as he took a dig at the centre. He questioned the relationship that seemingly led to attempts to favour Adani in various sectors, including defence, airports, and the contentious farm laws. He noted that the Indian government is guided not by elected representatives but by elusive cabinet secretaries and bureaucrats. A staggering 90 secretaries, he emphasised, wield the power to design schemes and decide where the money flows.
In a whirlwind tour, MP Rahul Gandhi and CM Bhupesh Baghel managed to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 414 development projects worth a staggering Rs 669 crore, all under the banner of the ‘Awas Nyaya Sammelan.’ Quite an eventful day, one might say!
