CM Baghel urges PM Modi to address irregularly operated passenger trains in chhattisgarh

Raipur: Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel, has raised serious concerns about the irregular operation of passenger trains passing through the state in a letter addressed to prime minister Narendra Modi. The letter highlights the issues faced by lakhs of people due to the railways’ lack of prior information and sudden cancellations of passenger trains, causing major inconvenience to passengers and affecting various aspects of daily life.

In the letter, Baghel expressed his disappointment over the railway’s notification for abrupt train cancellations without informing passengers about the duration of the cancellation. He further pointed out the excessive delays in the running of trains, disrupting the schedules of students, pilgrims, patients, job seekers, businessmen, laborers, and examinees.

The irregular and unsystematic operation of trains is taking a toll on the economy of the state, with people growing increasingly disappointed, upset, and annoyed. The continuous cancellation and delays of trains have led to a loss of confidence in the government’s handling of railway management.

Given the state’s geographical conditions and low train density, passenger trains are a vital mode of transport for people living in remote areas. Chief minister Baghel emphasized the urgent need for smoother and more efficient operation of passenger trains to provide relief to the affected populace.

This plea to Prime Minister Modi comes after multiple unsuccessful attempts by the chief minister to draw the Railway Minister’s attention to the issue. As the situation worsens, Baghel urges the prime minister to intervene and instruct the Ministry of Railways to take immediate action in ensuring the smooth operation of passenger trains in Chhattisgarh, ultimately benefiting the state’s economy and restoring faith in the government’s management of railway services.
