Raipur. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has approved the establishment of an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) at Patewa village in Rajnandgaon district, Chhattisgarh. The ₹432.08-crore project is expected to create nearly 9,000 jobs and attract over ₹3,000 crore in investment.
The Centre has sanctioned ₹210.56 crore in financial assistance under the EMC 2.0 scheme. The project will be implemented by the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC).
This will be the second major electronics cluster in Chhattisgarh after the facility at Nava Raipur. Four anchor units from the semiconductor, electric vehicle and smart electronics sectors have shown interest in the cluster, proposing an initial investment of around ₹365 crore.
Spread across 306.56 acres, the cluster will have 150.56 acres reserved for industrial plots. It will feature ready-built factories, dedicated power and water supply systems, warehousing facilities and modern industrial infrastructure. All statutory clearances required for the project have already been secured.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving the project. He said the Centre’s support is helping Chhattisgarh establish a strong footprint in electronics manufacturing.
Sai said the EMC 2.0 project reflects that Chhattisgarh has emerged as a reliable destination for national manufacturing industries. The cluster is expected to generate nearly 9,000 long-term employment opportunities for youth. The state government will align technical and vocational training institutes with industry requirements so that local youth can secure jobs as recruitment begins.
Commerce and Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan said the state government has streamlined industrial processes. Through the ‘OneClick’ single-window system, land allocation and statutory clearances are being provided within fixed timelines to prevent project delays.
The initiative will support national programmes such as ‘Make in India’, ‘Digital India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ by strengthening domestic electronics manufacturing, component production and value addition.
