Paddy procurement to begin on Nov 15: Ramvichar Netam

Raipur, October 28: Chhattisgarh Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam announced on Wednesday that paddy procurement for the 2026–27 Kharif marketing season will begin across the state on November 15, 2026.
Addressing a press conference at Ekatma Parisar in Raipur, Netam outlined the key decisions taken during the recent Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The Cabinet approved 19 major proposals concerning farmers’ welfare, government employees, and electricity subsidies.
Under the updated scheme, the state government will procure paddy at ₹3,100 per quintal, with a maximum limit of 21 quintals per acre. The procurement target covers more than 27.50 lakh registered farmers across the state.
Netam highlighted several procedural simplifications introduced to make the paddy-selling process easier for farmers.
AgriStack Integration: Farmers registered under AgriStack during the previous procurement season will not need to register again. They will also be exempt from bringing physical land passbooks (rin pustika) to procurement centres.
Biometric Verification: Digital crop surveys will determine the paddy cultivation area online, while biometric-based verification will ensure that procurement takes place only from genuine farmers.
Expanded Infrastructure: The state government is establishing 360 new paddy procurement centres, taking the total number of centres to 3,100 this year.
Netam also stated that the Cabinet had approved amendments to the Krishak Unnati Yojana for Kharif 2026. Under the revised guidelines, input assistance for paddy cultivation will be calculated on a per-acre basis instead of a per-quintal basis. This will ensure that farmers receive input assistance calculated on the basis of 21 quintals per acre, irrespective of their actual yield.
The minister further informed that the Cabinet had approved the recommendations of the sub-committee regarding the disposal of surplus paddy from the 2024–25 and 2025–26 Kharif seasons through auctions.
BJP state general secretary Dr Naveen Markandey, Kisan Morcha state president Alok Singh Thakur, and state spokesperson Nalinish Thokne were also present at the press conference.
