Chhattisgarh food safety team finds two of three paneer samples sub-standard in Raipur

Raipur: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Raipur has intensified monitoring of paneer manufacturers, stockists and retailers across the district following the notification of the Paneer Analogue Prohibition Order.
During an inspection on August 3, 2026, the food safety team seized 100 kg of loose paneer from Pranshu Rai near Taelghani Naka Chowk, Railway Station, Raipur. The team also collected a sample of loose paneer from Krishna Dairy, operated by Ashok Yadu, on Mandi Road in Tilda.
According to the food analyst’s report, both samples failed to meet the prescribed quality parameters and were declared sub-standard.
In a separate enforcement drive, officials collected a sample of ‘Sudha Amrit’ paneer being transported to the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT), Raipur, after being unloaded from the Amarkantak Express. The food analyst’s report found this sample to be within the prescribed quality standards.
The department has initiated legal action against the vendors and dairy owners under the relevant provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, along with the Rules and Regulations, 2011.
