CM Baghel transfers over Rs 15 crore under Godhan Nyay Yojana

Raipur: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel disbursed Rs 15.29 crore as the 73rd installment of the Godhan Nyay Yojana directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries at a programme organized at his residence office today. The scheme aims to support rural livestock farmers and promote sustainable agriculture practices.

During the event, the Chief Minister also transferred Rs 5 crore 60 lakh to the rural livestock farmers who are engaged in the sale of cow dung in the Gauthans from 14 to 31 July. Additionally, a sum of Rs 9 crore 69 lakh was released to the Gauthan committees and women self-help groups, empowering them economically.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister expressed his delight at the remarkable success of the Godhan Nyay Yojana in the past three years. He highlighted that not only Chhattisgarh but the entire nation has applauded the scheme, inspiring other states to adopt similar initiatives.

Agriculture Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu also shared his thoughts during the program, revealing that approximately 38 lakh hectares of land have been cultivated in the state. He expressed confidence in the farmers’ ability to produce good crops and praised the positive impact of the government’s agricultural schemes on their financial well-being.

Of particular note was the growing contribution of self-reliant Gauthans in cow dung purchases. Out of the total payment of Rs 5.60 crore to the cow dung sellers, Rs 3.31 crore were self-deposited funds from these Gauthans, demonstrating their active involvement and dedication.

Currently, there is an ample supply of 4.83 lakh quintals of vermicompost available in the Gauthans, encouraging the Agriculture Minister to urge all farmer brothers to embrace organic fertilizers for sustainable farming practices.

With today’s transfer of funds, the total amount disbursed under the Godhan Nyay Yojana has reached an impressive Rs 541.66 crore. Moreover, a total of 128.34 lakh quintals of cow dung have been purchased in the Gauthans, contributing to the economic prosperity of cow dung sellers, who have received Rs 250.08 crore for 125.54 lakh quintals of cow dung sold.

The Godhan Nyay Yojana has emerged as a model scheme, propelling rural women towards financial independence through self-help groups. The success of the program has garnered praise from all corners of the country and continues to inspire others to follow suit in implementing similar welfare schemes.
