MLA Shailesh Pandey raised the issue of public interest at the ZRUCC meeting.

In the meeting of ZRUCC on Thursday, MLA Shailesh Pandey discussed issues of public interest with the railway administration and sought answers.

The railway administration stated that passenger train operations got suspended due to the nationwide lockdown caused by the corona infection. Except for 12 trains, all other trains are currently operating in the same manner. Some passenger trains got cancelled due to the execution of works related to the expansion and modernization of infrastructure by other border railways, including the South East Central Railway.

Shailesh Pandey inquired about the passengers’ tickets cancelled due to the closure of trains. In response, the Railway Administration stated that 3856411 passenger tickets got cancelled between 1-4-2022 and 30-9-2022. The Railways has suffered a revenue loss of Rs 24 crore 70 lakh 92 thousand 23 as a result.

He also wanted to know how much money Chhattisgarh received in the Railway Budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 and what got done with it. While seeking updated information from the Railways, the Railway Administration informed me that the One Station – One Product Scheme was announced in the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2022-23. The purpose of this is the following-

1- Promoting Vocal for Local to the local approach of the Government of India.

To provide a market for local indigenous products.

3- To provide an opportunity for rail travellers to experience the rich heritage of India and buy indigenous products in the location

4- To create additional income opportunities for the underprivileged people of society.

Under this scheme, the following stations of South East Central Railway got OSOP-

Bilaspur division includes Bilaspur, Raigarh, Sakti, Champa, Janjgir, Naila, Uslapur, Pendra Road, Anuppur, Shahdol, and Korba stations.

Regarding the decision on the demand for Tifra Under Bridge, the Railway Administration said that the LC NO of Tifra Under Bridge. BK-2 belongs to KM 722/7-9 Bilaspur Uslapur section. The state government constructed two road overbridges at the said place. Presently there is no provision for under bridge by the railways. If the Railways receive a proposal from the State Government to construct the Under Bridge at the cost of the State Government, then it will be considered as per the rules.

Giving updated information about the development of the Uslapur station, Railways said that the Uslapur railway station comes under the NSG-5 category and all facilities are available as per Railway Station Board standards. Presently the following development works have been done at this station-

1- Development of circulating area, approach road and relocation of parking lots
2- Construction of a cover shed in front of the station building
3- Water booth and covered platform shed
4- Widening of the main entrance
5- Toilet for Divyang (female and male) in front of both the platforms
6- Coach Indication Board, Train Indication Board, Train Glance Board, Lighting Improvement, AC in First Class Waiting Room, Water Cooler, Fan, etc.
7- Uniform signage, dustbins and furniture in VIP rooms and high-end waiting rooms.

Concerning the issue of waterlogging in Vyapar Vihar, the Railway Administration stated that the PWP was proposed for 2022-23. However, the Railway Board did not approve this work.

The Railway Administration stated in its decision to build the Ghuru Ameri Gate underbridge that LC NO. BK-3 previously belonged to the KM 724/9-11 Bilaspur Uslapur section. The Railways have approved this work for the 2018-19 fiscal year. A cost-sharing agreement between the Railways and the State Government is proposed for this work. The detailed estimate has been submitted for approval to the state government, which is still pending. The State Government has yet to provide the Railways with a 50% cost-sharing contribution. Following that, the underbridge construction can begin.

Regarding the notice to vacate the house given to residents of Bilaspur’s Bapu Nagar, the Railways stated that the residents of Bapu Nagar were given the notice to vacate the house to widen the road. The Hon’ble Court directed that time be extended until February 2020.
