Raipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Chhattisgarh on March 30, where he will address a massive public gathering in Bilaspur. During his visit, he is expected to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for key infrastructure projects worth over ₹1,000 crore, including developments in railways, NTPC, and highway connectivity.
High-Profile Event in Bilaspur: Preparations in Full Swing
The grand event will take place at Mohbhatta Ground in Bilaspur, with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai personally overseeing the preparations. Lawmakers, MPs, and local leaders from across the state have been given the responsibility to mobilize public participation. Government officials and ministers are actively involved in making arrangements for this significant event.
While the specific projects to be launched remain confidential, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao has indicated that multiple initiatives related to NTPC, Indian Railways, the state government, and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will be either inaugurated or have their foundation stones laid. A crucial meeting is set to take place in Bilaspur to finalize arrangements, with senior officials, public representatives, and the Chief Minister closely monitoring the preparations.
Massive Infrastructure Setup for the Rally
The rally will be held in Mohbhatta village of Bodri Tehsil, Bilaspur. Ahead of Modi’s arrival in Bilaspur, he will first land in Raipur. To facilitate smooth travel, three helipads have already been completed for the Prime Minister and his team, while an additional two helipads are being constructed for the Governor and the Chief Minister.
A comprehensive parking arrangement has been established, with nine designated parking areas near the venue. The event site will feature five large domes, accommodating attendees in 120 designated sectors, with seating arrangements for 1,000–1,500 people per sector. Additional amenities such as drinking water, snacks, medical aid, sanitation, and restrooms are being set up, as attendees are expected to remain at the venue for 4-5 hours.
Political Significance and BJP’s Strategy
PM Modi’s visit underscores the rapid implementation of public welfare projects through the coordinated efforts of the state and central governments. The BJP is expected to leverage this visit to highlight the benefits of having BJP-led governments at both the state and central levels, showcasing accelerated development initiatives. This strategic move could potentially influence upcoming elections in states like Bihar, where polls are scheduled in the coming months.

PM Modi last visited Chhattisgarh on April 23, where he addressed rallies in Sakti (Janjgir-Champa) and later in Dhamtari. The following day, on April 24, he held a campaign rally in Ambikapur for the Surguja Lok Sabha seat.
