PM Modi in Bilaspur: Congress Plagued by Scams, Promises Gas Supply via Pipelines

Raipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, on Sunday, accused the previous Congress government of rampant corruption, particularly in recruitment exams, and assured that the BJP government is actively investigating these irregularities. He launched 22 projects worth Rs 33,700 crore, focusing on infrastructure, electricity, education, and gas pipeline expansion.

Gas Pipeline Expansion and Energy Reforms Modi announced that over 200,000 homes will receive piped cooking gas, similar to water supply, easing reliance on traditional LPG cylinders. He also highlighted the PM Solar Scheme, which enables households to generate and sell electricity, leading to zero-balance electricity bills. The initiative aims to boost industries, create employment, and promote CNG-powered vehicles, reducing reliance on petroleum transport via trucks.

Tribal Development Initiatives For the upliftment of tribal communities, Modi introduced the Dharati Aaba Janjatiya Utkarsh Abhiyan, under which Rs 80,000 crore has been allocated to benefit 7,000 villages. Additionally, the PM Jan-Man Yojana is set to support backward tribal communities in 18 districts, covering 2,000 settlements. Under this initiative, 2,500 km of roads will be built in Chhattisgarh, improving connectivity in remote areas.

Education and Railway Development Modi announced that 12,000 PM Shri Schools have been launched across India, including 350 in Chhattisgarh. He also emphasized the introduction of medical and engineering courses in Hindi. On railway electrification, he stated that Chhattisgarh has achieved 100% electrification, with Rs 40,000 crore invested in railway projects and an additional Rs 7,000 crore allocated in this year’s budget for improved connectivity.

Criticism of Congress and Vision for Chhattisgarh PM Modi criticized the Congress for neglecting Chhattisgarh’s development, asserting that his government is bringing transformative infrastructure projects, including roads, housing, electricity, and mobile networks in remote areas. He accused Congress of mismanaging power supply, whereas his government is establishing new power plants and promoting renewable energy through the PM Solar Scheme.

PM Surya-Ghar Free Electricity Scheme

Marking 25 years of Chhattisgarh’s statehood, Modi announced the PM Surya-Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, under which families will receive Rs 70,000-Rs 80,000 in aid to install solar panels. Over 200,000 households have already registered, enabling them to generate electricity and earn from surplus production.
