Durg Police organise free medical camp for 843 personnel

Raipur:
Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam inaugurated a mega medical camp for police personnel and their families at the New Police Lines, Durg. The single-day camp, organised under the ‘Jan Mitra’ initiative in collaboration with Meghganga Group and Sparsh Hospital, provided free health screenings to 843 beneficiaries.

The beneficiaries included personnel from the district police force, armed forces, Home Guards, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), retired personnel, and their family members.

DGP Arun Dev Gautam commenced the camp by planting a sapling and later inspected the diagnostic facilities. He stated that police personnel work under challenging and stressful conditions, making physical and mental well-being essential. He urged the force to incorporate regular health check-ups, a balanced diet, and yoga into their daily routines to prevent lifestyle diseases.

Inspector General of Police (Durg Range) Abhishek Shandilya noted that irregular working hours often disrupt the health of police personnel. He said periodic medical camps help in the early detection of illnesses and contribute to maintaining a healthy police force.

Deputy Inspector General and Senior Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Agrawal said the initiative intentionally included retired personnel and their families to expand health awareness and ensure access to expert medical advice.

The camp operated from 8 am to 4 pm, bringing together specialist doctors from 22 medical departments. The facilities offered comprehensive pathology investigations by the NABL-certified Life Care Diagnostic Centre, along with dental and ophthalmic check-ups under one roof.

Durg Collector Abhijit Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Sukhnandan Rathore, and several senior police officials were present during the event.
