CM Bhupesh Baghel and Health Minister TS Singhdeo walked alongside Rahul Gandhi for the first time during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Madhya Pradesh.

Chhattisgarh’s Jai-Veeru i.e., Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Health Minister TS Singhdeo, were seen together for the first time in Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra on Saturday. Both veteran leaders accompanied Rahul Gandhi on his walk from Umaria Chowki in Khargone district to Balwada in Indore. In the late evening, a sapling was planted at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar’s birthplace in Mhow with soil and water from Chhattisgarh.

Saturday and Sunday were for guests from Chhattisgarh. For this, groups of Congress leaders came to Madhya Pradesh on Friday at different times. There most of the leaders reached Omkareshwar. After worshipping there, everyone stayed in nearby hotels. Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra started at around 6 am from Mortakka in the Khandwa district.

During this, Vidhansabha Speaker Dr Charandas Mahant, Health Minister TS Singhdeo, State Congress President Mohan Markam and all the state Congress leaders kept walking with Rahul Gandhi for some time. Priyanka Gandhi and Robert Vadra also walked together. Later Priyanka left for Delhi via Indore.

The marchers reached Manihar in Khargone district via Barwah of Khargone. A morning break happened here. The yatra started from Umaria Chowki at around 3.30 pm and left for Balwada. Here Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also joined the march. In the evening, the marchers reached Mayapur Dham Temple in Balwada, where the evening break took place. Later all the senior leaders, along with Rahul Gandhi, left for Mhow.

On reaching Mhow, Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders paid homage at the Ambedkar memorial. After this, he addressed the gathering. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath, Digvijay Singh, and former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh were present on the stage with him. Mallikarjun Kharge administered the oath of the constitution to the workers. He said the people of RSS and BJP want to destroy the constitution. We have taken it upon ourselves to save it.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel left for Bhavnagar in Gujarat via Indore after Mhow’s public meeting. He is going to address a public meeting in Palitana on Sunday afternoon. After that, he will campaign for the Congress candidate in public meetings organized in Mahuva and Talja assembly constituencies.

In Mhow, Chhattisgarh Congress marchers planted a Peepal sapling in the presence of Rahul Gandhi. Water and soil from seven rivers in Chhattisgarh were used to plant it. State President Mohan Markam drank from the Arpa, Pari, Sondhur, Hasdev, Shivnath, Indravati, and Mahanadi rivers.

Bharat Jodo Yatra is to start from Mhow on Sunday. This march will go till Bada Ganpati square of Indore city. The Chhattisgarh Congress marchers will participate in this journey. After the public meeting in Indore, the guest marchers of Chhattisgarh will return to Raipur. Permanent marchers will also be involved in further marches along with Rahul Gandhi.
