Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel Unveils Bijapur Garment Factory, Paving the Way for Economic Transformation

Raipur: In a significant development, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the Bijapur Garment Factory in Itpal, marking a momentous step towards economic empowerment in the region. This factory is poised to transform the livelihoods of villagers in Bijapur district, who traditionally relied on agriculture and forestry. Recognizing the need to combat rural migration by creating local job opportunities, the district administration embarked on this venture to empower women and stimulate the local economy.

The establishment of the garment factory involved collaboration with renowned garment brands such as Myntra, Max, and Dixcy. Representatives from Dixcy and Myntra visited the district and committed to the factory’s development, which was completed at a cost of Rs 6 crore 90 lakh 27 thousand.

To prepare the local workforce, counseling and training were provided to 200 beneficiaries, with plans to employ 800 women in the factory. The production of vests, in partnership with Dixcy Company, commenced in June 2023, further cementing the factory’s role in creating sustainable employment opportunities. This initiative is a shining example of how strategic partnerships and local investment can drive economic growth and uplift communities.
