Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Questions West Bengal Government Over Murshidabad Violence

Raipur
Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Vijay Sharma, has strongly criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the violence in Murshidabad district. He questioned why the protest against the Waqf law is being portrayed as a movement against Hindus while speaking to the media in Kawardha on Sunday.
Sharma alleged that under the West Bengal government, Hindus and people from other specific religious communities are facing persecution and are being forced to live in relief camps after displacement. He described it as unfortunate that citizens are being compelled to become refugees in their own country and state.
He further stated that the West Bengal government has completely failed in its responsibilities. He demanded that all the border districts of Bengal adjoining Bangladesh should be removed from the state government’s control and placed under the authority of the central government.
Calling it a matter of national security and concerning the lives, rights, and dignity of Indian citizens, Sharma urged the central government to intervene immediately and bring the situation under control.
