Balodabazar sees major push for public grievance redressal

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has intensified efforts to implement “good governance” at the grassroots level. Following directives from Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Balodabazar-Bhatapara district administration is reaching out directly to villagers through the Sushasan Tihar campaign. The initiative, which began on Friday in Risda village, aims to resolve public issues on the spot.
Immediate relief: 47% applications resolved on site
During the camp at the Risda High School premises, Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma instructed officials to ensure that the “person at the end of the line” benefits from the scheme. He also directed authorities to collect feedback from applicants to ensure satisfaction with the solutions provided.
Of the 573 applications received at the camp, officials resolved nearly 47% cases immediately in the presence of the minister. For cases involving technical complexities, Collector Kuldeep Sharma has set specific timelines for resolution.
One-stop destination for development
The camp also acted as a single-window platform for multiple welfare schemes:
- Road Safety: Police distributed helmets and supported Bharat Mata Vahini.
- Youth & Social Welfare: Skill development certificates were awarded, and sarpanches of TB-free villages received statues of Mahatma Gandhi.
- Health Services: The health department provided digital X-rays and issued Ayushman cards on the spot, offering relief to elderly citizens and patients.
Campaign to continue until 10 June
Collector Kuldeep Sharma confirmed that this is a systematic campaign, not a one-day event. The administration plans to cover 30 rural centres and 19 urban bodies across the district to ensure last-mile delivery of services.
The success of the Risda camp highlights how coordination between public representatives and the administration can effectively resolve long-pending local issues.
