Construction of ‘Devgudis’ in Darima and Karji, a boon for devotees

Raipur: The construction of ‘Devgudis’ in Darima and Karji has been completed. This was announced by chief minister Bhupesh Baghel during a programme organized as a part of his statewide public interaction drive ‘Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan’. Beautiful and eye-pleasing Devgudis have been established at both the places in Ambikapur district.
With the formation of Devgudis, the devotees will no longer have to face any inconvenience while worshiping and performing religious rituals during rainy and summer days. The construction has been done by the Janpad Panchayat under the guidance of Collector Kundan Kumar and Zila Panchayat CEO Vishwadeep. Each Devgudi has been constructed at a cost of about Rs 5 lakh, of which Rs 1.50 lakh have been approved by Panchayat and Rs 3.50 lakh from the DMF fund.
Along with the construction of ‘Devsthal’, a large shed has been built with pucca flooring, providing a better space for the visitors to sit. In almost every village there is a ‘Devgudi’ where the Baiga of the village and the villagers offers prayers on the festival or on a special occasion. Traditional ‘devgudi’ built in the village with wood and tile are extremely small and cause a lot of inconvenience to the people visiting here in the rainy season. Construction of new Devgudis will prove to be beneficial for the locals.
