Special medical board to probe fake disability certificates: Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal

Raipur
The Chhattisgarh government will constitute a special medical board in Raipur to investigate allegations of fake disability certificates used to secure government jobs. State health minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal directed officials to set up the expert panel and submit a report within a fixed timeframe following a joint meeting at Mahanadi Bhawan on Tuesday.
The decision affects 186 employees currently serving in various government departments whose disability certificates have come under scrutiny. The inquiry will follow general administration department guidelines and will be conducted through state or divisional medical boards.
Social welfare minister Laxmi Rajwade was also present at the inter-departmental review meeting, which focused on improving welfare schemes and healthcare accessibility for persons with disabilities.
Minister Jaiswal said Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s government is committed to protecting the interests of youth through fair and transparent administrative processes. He instructed officials to ensure that medical experts conduct an impartial probe into all complaints against the identified personnel.
The ministers reviewed plans to streamline the issuance of disability certificates and Unique Disability ID (UDID) cards across Chhattisgarh. The administration will organize dedicated medical boards and assessment camps in remote and rural areas to provide timely documentation to eligible beneficiaries. Measures to ensure the availability of specialist doctors on district medical boards were also discussed during the session.
