Raigarh Police, under Abhiyan Samvedna, traced a 17-year-old missing girl to Jammu and Kashmir and arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly abducting and sexually assaulting her on the pretext of marriage.

First Case:
The girl went missing from her home on July 21, 2026. Following a complaint from her father, Pussore Police registered a case under Section 137(2) of the BNS. During the investigation, police received information that the girl was in Jammu and Kashmir.

A police team recovered her on August 12, 2026, from the custody of Poonamchand Maitry, a resident of Bunga village. In her statement before a female police officer, the girl alleged that the accused lured her away with a promise of marriage and sexually assaulted her.

Police subsequently added charges under Sections 64(2)(i) and 64(2)(m) of the BNS and Section 4 of the POCSO Act. The accused was sent to judicial custody, while the minor was reunited with her family.

Second Case:
In another incident under Rairumakhurd Police Outpost, a 32-year-old woman alleged that a 17-year-old juvenile raped her at her residence on July 15, 2026, when she was alone. She also alleged that the juvenile threatened to kill her if she revealed the incident.

Police registered a case under Sections 64(1) and 351(3) of the BNS. After the juvenile returned from Tamil Nadu, police questioned him. Following the interrogation, he allegedly confessed to the crime and was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, which sent him to a child observation home.
