Four arrested for rice mill theft in Tilda, stolen paddy seized

The Tilda-Neora Police cracked a rice mill theft case within 24 hours, arresting four accused and recovering stolen paddy along with two commercial vehicles on Sunday.
The case began after a complaint was filed on 13 June 2026 by Dinanath Agrawal, resident of Gandhi Chowk, Tilda, who reported that unidentified thieves broke into his Krishna Rice Mill during the night of 12–13 June 2026 and stole sacks of paddy.
Following the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 331(4), 305(a), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Raipur Superintendent of Police (Rural) Shweta Shrivastava Sinha directed officers and the Tilda-Neora SHO to swiftly identify and arrest the accused.
A police team examined CCTV footage, activated local informants, and analyzed technical evidence to trace the suspects.
During investigation, four suspects were detained and later confessed to the crime, revealing that the stolen paddy had been hidden at multiple locations.
The arrested accused have been identified as Parwana Dewar (21) of Dewar Basti, Jitendra Nishad (21) of Jeera Road, Rajat Verma (25) of Tulsi village, and Sabbi Agrawal alias Ramesh Kumar Agrawal (39) of Tulsi Newra.
Police recovered 108 sacks of stolen paddy and seized two Tata Ace vehicles used in the crime. The total value of recovered property is estimated at ₹10.82 lakh.
