Satish Chandra Dubey reviews SECL operations; launches digital portals and healthcare facility in Bilaspur

Bilaspur/Raipur. Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey conducted a detailed one-day review of the operations, achievements and future plans of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) during his visit to the company headquarters.
Tribute at Coal Miners’ Memorial
The minister began his visit by offering floral tributes at the Coal Miners’ Memorial on the SECL campus, appreciating the contribution of coal workers to national energy security and nation-building.

Review of production, safety and technology initiatives
During the review meeting, the minister examined coal production, dispatch, quality management, safety standards, coal gasification, mine closure activities, environmental initiatives, digitisation efforts and CSR programmes.
He stressed that SECL plays a vital role in strengthening India’s energy security and should further focus on safe, sustainable and technology-driven mining practices. He also emphasized that CSR initiatives must ensure benefits reach the last person in coalfield regions.
SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Harish Duhan informed that the company has contributed 26.86 million tonnes to Coal India’s 100 million tonne production target in the ongoing 2026–27 financial year, the highest among all subsidiaries so far.

Digital transformation initiatives launched
The minister launched two major digital platforms during the meeting:
- e-DADAS (Design and Drawings Approval in SECL) portal
- HMIS (Hospital Management and Information System) portal
The e-DADAS portal will digitise the approval process for engineering designs of infrastructure projects such as railway sidings and conveyor systems, ensuring faster and time-bound execution. The HMIS portal will modernise healthcare services in SECL hospitals by digitising patient records and improving medical monitoring.
New healthcare facility inaugurated in Bilaspur
The minister also inaugurated a 5-part hematology analyzer unit at the Indira Vihar Health Centre in Bilaspur. The advanced automated system will provide faster and more accurate blood test reports, improving infection detection through detailed white blood cell analysis.
At the end of the visit, the minister also inspected the healthcare facilities at the centre.
