Three CRPF Jawans Among Four Killed as Car Rams Into Truck in Dhamtari

Raipur: In a tragic incident in Dhamtari district, Chhattisgarh, four people, including three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, lost their lives on Saturday when their speeding car collided with a truck from behind. One jawan sustained critical injuries and has been shifted to Raipur for advanced medical care.
Accident and Victims
The accident occurred near Khapri Bypass under the jurisdiction of Arjuni police station. The deceased have been identified as Sub-Inspector Umendra Singh, Head Constable Mukesh Kumar, Constable Rajkumar Gaur, and driver Hiralal Nagar.
Preliminary reports indicate that the personnel were travelling from Jagdalpur to Raipur. The impact was so severe that the car was completely mangled, trapping the occupants inside. Local residents alerted the police, who used cranes and cutters to retrieve the bodies and the injured.
Rescue Operations and Medical Response
Two jawans died on the spot, while the driver and another personnel succumbed to injuries at the district hospital. Injured jawan Abhiman Rai was shifted to Raipur for further treatment. Despite the airbags deploying, the high-speed collision proved fatal for all four victims.
Administration and Coordination
Senior officials, including Dhamtari CSP Abhishek Chaturvedi and Additional SP Shailendra Pandey, supervised the rescue operations at the site. CRPF officials also arrived to coordinate with local authorities.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai Expresses Grief
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed deep grief over the untimely demise of CoBRA personnel in the accident, describing it as an irreparable loss to the state and the nation.
Paying tribute, CM Sai noted that CoBRA jawans play a crucial role in maintaining internal security and peace. He extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured jawan. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured personnel and reaffirmed that the state government stands with the affected families.
