Deputy CM Arun Sao Attacks Congress, Says Party Moving Towards ‘Zero’ After Delhi, Now in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao launched a sharp attack on the Congress, claiming that the party is heading towards “zero” after its poor performance in Delhi and now in the state’s municipal elections. Speaking at a press conference at Ekatma Parisar, Sao highlighted the BJP’s growing popularity and the achievements of the state government over the past 13 months.
“The people of Chhattisgarh have given the BJP an unprecedented mandate in the municipal elections. Our government has fulfilled Modi’s guarantees, and a new era of development has begun in villages. Meanwhile, Congress is collapsing due to internal conflicts, which will only intensify,” said Sao.
He expressed gratitude to the people for supporting the BJP and asserted that the government has successfully implemented Modi’s guarantees. He also emphasized key governance measures, including:
- Paddy procurement at ₹3,100 per quintal
- Financial assistance to 70 lakh women under the Mahtari Vandan scheme
- Support for tendu leaf collectors
- ₹10,000 assistance to landless agricultural laborers
Sao highlighted the BJP’s expanding voter base, citing a 55.41% vote share in the recent urban body elections. He predicted similar success in the upcoming panchayat elections, further strengthening development efforts.
Focus on Rural Elections and Development
Discussing the rural election process, Sao mentioned that polling is underway for 27,210 panchayats and 911 Janpad members. He described the elections as a “festival of democracy” with active public participation in campaigns, rallies, and postal ballot voting.
He also outlined BJP’s efforts to revive stalled projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, benefiting over 800,000 people with financial aid and home allocations. He assured that BJP-backed candidates would secure victories, ensuring continued rural development.
‘Congress Moving Towards Zero’
Criticizing the Congress, Sao remarked, “For five years, they ruled the state but remained embroiled in internal conflicts, neglecting public welfare. Under Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership, we have achieved historic success. Congress was wiped out in Delhi, then in Chhattisgarh’s municipal elections, and now they are heading towards zero.”
Counterattack on Amarjeet Bhagat’s Statement
Responding to Congress leader Amarjeet Bhagat’s remarks, Sao said, “Congress is in disarray. Their internal battles will only escalate. They have no concern for the public, only their own interests. The party is on the path to complete irrelevance.”
