Ahead of Dilwai, the Chhattisgarh Police Department has finally released the results of the Sub Inspector (SI) Recruitment 2021, with 959 candidates selected against 975 posts. The recruitment process, which began in 2018, saw the interview phase conducted in August-September of the previous year. The selection list is now available on the department’s website, www.cgpolice.gov.in.
Initially, the SI recruitment process commenced six years ago with approximately 600 posts. However, in 2021, a revised advertisement increased the number of posts to 975. Following the physical measurement and written examination, the interview was conducted last year, with 1,378 candidates participating. The matter then reached the court, and on its instructions, an additional 370 male candidates were called for the physical test on July 9, 2024. Subsequently, 58 candidates were interviewed in July, resulting in a total of 1,436 contenders vying for the 975 posts.
The Police Department has selected 959 candidates for various positions, including 57 for 58 Subedar posts, 577 for 577 Sub Inspector posts, 69 for 69 Sub Inspector (Special Branch) posts, 247 for 247 Platoon Commander posts, 2 for 6 Sub Inspector (Fingerprint) posts, 1 for 3 Sub Inspector (Document in Question) posts, 5 for 6 Sub Inspector (Computer) posts, and 1 for 9 Sub Inspector (Radio) posts.
In their quest to have the SI recruitment exam results released, candidates in Chhattisgarh have resorted to various measures, including shaving their heads, begging, marathons from Durg to Raipur, and even demanding euthanasia. The hunger strike, which began on Tuesday, continues for the third day, with candidates protesting near the Telibandha pond, raising slogans, and expressing their frustration.
“Today it has been more than 6 years waiting for the result. I am a soldier, there is fire inside me, how do I get it out?” said BL Sahu, a former soldier and candidate who burst into tears while expressing his anger and frustration. The candidates’ determination to have their voices heard remains unwavering as they continue their fight for the release of the long-awaited results.
