Tribal Department Principal Secretary Sonmoni Borah Stresses Quality and Timely Completion of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Museum in Nava Raipur

As the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Adivasi Swatantrata Senani Sangrahalay, dedicated to the freedom fighters of Chhattisgarh, is currently under construction in Nava Raipur, Principal Secretary of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, Sonmoni Borah, inspected the museum on Wednesday. He reviewed all 15 galleries of the under-construction complex and provided necessary directions to the engineers, construction agencies, and departmental officials present.
The museum is being established near Purkhouti Muktangan with a budget of ₹45 crore on approximately 10 acres of land. Principal Secretary Borah stated that this museum will not only commemorate the supreme sacrifices made by the tribal freedom fighters of Chhattisgarh during the freedom struggle but will also acquaint the public with Chhattisgarh’s proud tribal heritage.
The Principal Secretary held a meeting with the officials and instructed them to complete the museum’s work with full quality and within the stipulated time. He emphasized that there should be no compromise on the quality of work. He reviewed the statues of Chhattisgarh’s tribal freedom fighters and other artworks prepared for installation in the museum and praised the work done so far. He also discussed further improvements with the sculptors present.
The Principal Secretary also inspected the artifacts collected for the museum. He reviewed the arrangements for electricity, water, tiles, and other facilities at the reception, souvenir shop, food court, multimedia room, and toilets, as well as the construction of the parking area, and gave necessary instructions for improvements. Additionally, he instructed the installation of a solar system in the complex and the creation of beautiful artwork at the museum’s main entrance. Shri Borah directed that the construction of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh’s fiber statue, the memorial, a small lake, and landscaping be completed by October 15, with the remaining work to be finished by the deadline of October 31.
The Principal Secretary instructed departmental officials to continuously monitor the construction of the museum. The Director of the Tribal Research and Training Institute, P. S. Elma, will review the museum’s construction work daily, while the Commissioner of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, Narendra Kumar Dugga, will visit the site every third day to review the construction work. Additionally, the Principal Secretary himself will visit the site every Wednesday to review the progress of the museum’s construction. The main objective of these actions is to accelerate the construction work and ensure that it is completed with full quality within the stipulated time.
