Raids conducted by eow in chhattisgarh in mahadev satta app case

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) conducted raids at 29 locations across Chhattisgarh in connection with the Mahadev Satta app case, resulting in the seizure of electronic devices, documents related to assets, hawala transactions, and bank-related documents. Several individuals, including suspended ASI Chandra Bhushan Verma and hawala operator Sunil Dammami, have been remanded to judicial custody.
The locations raided comprise 18 places in Durg, 7 in Raipur, 2 in Balodabazar, and 1 each in Raigarh and Kanker. Furthermore, Constable Arjun Singh Yadav, who had been avoiding arrest for an extended period, has been captured in Pachmarhi. An investigation is currently ongoing concerning the electronic devices seized from the accused.
The raids conducted at 29 locations resulted in the discovery of electronic devices associated with the Mahadev app, documents related to assets, papers concerning hawala transactions, bank-related documents, and other suspicious materials, all of which are currently under examination. In the meantime, the individuals accused in the Mahadev online betting app case, such as suspended ASI Chandra Bhushan Verma, along with others including hawala operator Sunil Dammami, have been remanded to judicial custody until May 14th. Constable Arjun Singh Yadav was apprehended in Pachmarhi.
The EOW interrogated three accused before they were taken into remand. After completing the remand period, both individuals were presented before the special court on Thursday. The judicial remand of Amit Agrawal has been extended until May 14th.
Suspended Assistant Sub-Inspector Chandra Bhushan Verma, along with others, including hawala operator Sunil Dammami, has been placed in judicial remand until May 14.
More than twelve locations were raided
A team consisting of 6 to 7 individuals, which includes officers of DSP rank, has been established. The EOW team also consists of typists. In recent days, EOW officials had interrogated the accused individuals related to the Mahadev Satta app while taking them into custody. During this period, raids were carried out at their residences and other places.
Sources indicate that the majority of the locations where enforcement actions are being carried out are linked to bullion traders and police personnel. Additionally, the residence of the brother of the accused ASI Chandra Bhushan Verma has undergone a search operation.
The team from EOW reached the residence of suspended ASI Chandra Bhushan Verma for investigation. Currently, Chandra Bhushan Verma is in Raipur Central Jail under judicial remand. There are allegations that Verma utilized protection money to influence police officers and politicians in order to protect individuals linked to the Mahadev app.
