Speaking at the conference of Inspector Generals of Police (IGPs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) at Police Headquarters Naya Raipur, Sai reiterated the state’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime, drug abuse, and illegal activities. He warned of departmental action against SPs and station-level officials failing to curb crimes. Sai urged officers to be tough on criminals while maintaining humility towards ordinary citizens. He highlighted the societal dangers posed by social vices like illegal liquor, gambling, and betting, particularly their influence on youth. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for discipline among police officers, essential for establishing a crime-free society. He referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to ensure justice through strict law enforcement, assuring timely implementation of new legislation.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma highlighted significant funding allocated to the Home Department in the Sai government’s inaugural budget, with a 16% increase over the previous year.
