Farewell Ceremony Celebrates Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi’s Legacy at Indian Institute of Mass Communication

The farewell function for Director General Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Dwivedi was held on Tuesday at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC). On this occasion, Prof. Dwivedi said that teachers and students at IIMC can together write a new chapter in journalism. The history of Indian journalism is incomplete without the students of IIMC. With their talent, the students of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication have brought laurels to the institute. Additional Director General Dr Nimish Rustagi and Dean (Academic) Prof. participated in the ceremony. All faculty members, officers, and employees, including Govind Singh, were present.
Director General Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi’s tenure will be remembered for keeping the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi, as the best media institute in the country. He has been the Director General of the Institute for three years. His term ends on July 12, 2023. IIMC has been adjudged the best media training institute in the country in each of the surveys in the last three years.
During his tenure, Prof. Dwivedi, While relaunching two UGC-CARE-listed research journals, ‘Sanchar Medium’ and ‘Communicator, published by IIMC, also launched three new journals: ‘Rajbhasha Vimarsh’, ‘Sanchar Srijan, and ‘IIMC News’. Apart from starting a Hindi journalism course in Jammu and Amravati, Prof. Dwivedi also started a new course on digital media at three centres, including Aizawl. He also started a creative experiment like ‘Friday Dialogue’, which was very popular among the students. In expanding the identity of IIMC through social media, Prof. Dwivedi has played a big role. As the chairman of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee, South Delhi, Prof. Dwivedi inspired 76 organisations to work in Hindi.
