Two MoUs signed with private companies to set up nutritional supplements, fortified rice, ethanol and power plants with capital investment of Rs 295 crore in the state

Raipur: Two MoUs were signed today at Udyog Bhawan Raipur in the presence of industries minister Kawasi Lakhma. Chhattisgarh Government’s Industries Department and Suruchi Foods Pvt Ltd, New Delhi signed a contract for nutritional supplements and fortified rice, under which the company will invest Rs 111.7 crore and generate employment for 800 people.

Chhattisgarh Government’s Industries Department and Unity Industries Pvt Ltd signed a contract for ethanol extraction from maize based corn starch, damaged rice and power plant, under which the company will invest Rs 183 crore and generate employment for about 120 people. Thus, MoUs worth Rs 294.7 crore were signed.

Bhuvnesh Yadav, Secretary, Government of Chhattisgarh Industries Department, andHimanshu Gupta, Director, Suruchi Foods Pvt Ltd, signed the MoU for supplementary nutrition food and fortified rice, whereas for ethanol extraction from maize based corn starch and damaged rice and power plant, the MoU was signed between Bhuvanesh Yadav, Secretary, Government of Chhattisgarh Industries Department and Basant Kumar Agarwal, Director of Unity Industries Private Limited.
