Raipur
Even after 14 days have passed, the governor has not signed the resolution passed by the assembly for reservation.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’sdispleasure over delay in the approval of Reservation Amendment Bill by the Governor has come to the fore. Talking to the media here on Friday, the chief minister said that the Governor was ready to sign the bill, but 14 days have passed since the Chhattisgarh legislative assembly cleared the bill and there is no indication of Governor showing any interest in approving it.
The Chief Minister has also took an exception to the questions are being raised on the bill by the Governor.
The chief minister said the Raj Bhawan has not rights to raise the question on the bill. Reservation is not for any particular class. All the rules are there.
Governor Anusuiya Uikey is said to be reluctant to sign the reservation bills because of the 27% reservation given to OBC class. Talking to the media, the governor said, I had suggested the government to call a special session only to increase the reservation of the tribal class. Now when the court has called 58% reservation as illegal, then how will the government defend 76% reservation.
The Governor, who reached Dhamtari, said, the High Court had made the provision of 58% reservation illegal. Due to this there was an atmosphere of dissatisfaction in the state. The reservation for tribals came down from 32% to 20%. Sarva Adivasi Samaj started mass movement in the entire state. Social organizations, political parties applied. Then I wrote a letter to the CM. I was also taking information personally. I had demanded to call a session only for the tribal society.
