*’Teachers should imbibe the Panchkoshi concept in life’ – Vice -Chancellor Prof. Chakrawal*

*Three-day Workshop on Character Building and Personality Development Concludes in CU*
Bilaspur. The closing ceremony of the three-day workshop on the subject of character building and overall development of personality was held in the Rajat Jayanti Sabhagar of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (a Central University) at 4.00 p.m. on May 21, 2023. The Chief guest of the workshop organized from May 19 to 21, 2023 under the joint auspices of Guru Ghasidas University and Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi were Dr. Atul Kothari, National Secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi and Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Atul Kothari congratulated the members of the organizing committee for the successful organization of the three-day workshop and appreciated the participation of the participants. Dr. Kothari said that in the National Education Policy special emphasis has been laid on character building and all-round development of the students. Dr Kothari said, “The workshop on character building and overall development of personality started from Guru Ghasidas University is a beginning, not an end”. Under the upcoming scheme, while including a course on character building and personality development in graduate, post graduate and Ph.D. course work, emphasis was laid on including it in other courses as well.
While presiding over the concluding program, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Alok Kumar Chakrawal stressed upon the teachers participating in the workshop to imbibe the Panchkoshiya concept in life. He said that the main objective of the National Education Policy 2020 is to provide value based education to the youth for character building and personality development. Teachers are being prepared as resource persons and master trainers by imparting them training through Panchkoshi concept. Panchkoshi concept leads to overall development of personality which appears conspicuously in the form of character building. I have full faith that the teachers who have been trained in this workshop will inspire young students for personality development and encourage experiments related to the idea of Panchkoshiya concept in the classrooms.
Earlier, the program started with lighting the lamp and garlanding the idols of Maa Saraswati and Baba Ghasidas. The guests on the stage were welcomed by presenting them saplings. The workshop Co-coordinator, Prof. Praveen Kumar Mishra welcomed the guests. The Coordinator Prof. P.K. Bajpai presented the report of the three-day workshop. Other dignitaries, Prof. Nilambari Dave, Former Vice-Chancellor, Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat and Mr. Ashok Kadel, Director, Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy, Bhopal also expressed their views.
At the end of the workshop, vote of thanks was delivered by the Registrar, Prof. Manish Srivastava and Dr. Garima Tiwari, Assistant Professor Forestry, Department of Wildlife and Environmental Science conducted the program. Deans, heads of departments, officers, teaching staff and research scholars of various schools were present in the programme.
*Plan to include Panchkoshiya concept in the curriculum*
There was a discussion on the inclusion of various dimensions related to character building and overall development of personality in the undergraduate and postgraduate level courses. Along with this, discussions also centered on the determination of credits to be given to the students.
*Over 400 teacher participants brainstormed in 20 groups*
More than 400 teachers participated in this workshop as participants. Twenty groups were formed in the workshop in which the participants held deliberations, discussed, analyzed, reviewed and wrote conclusions on various topics of training.
