Six held with 5kg ganja in Raipur

Raipur:
Raipur Police have arrested six people, including a woman and a man from Odisha, for possessing 4.916 kg of ganja. The arrests were made during a raid at a house in BSUP Colony, Kathadih, under Mujgahan police station limits.

Acting on a tip-off received on 22 April 2026, the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit (ACCU) launched an operation. The action was carried out under the supervision of DCP Crime and Cyber Smritik Rajnala and DCP West Sandeep Patel.

During the raid, police recovered the contraband hidden under a bed inside the house. Officials also seized six mobile phones. The total estimated value of the seized items is around ₹3.45 lakh.

A case has been registered under Section 20B of the NDPS Act (Crime Number 94/26). Police are currently interrogating the accused to trace the drug supply chain.

Accused identified as:

  • Mohammad Arif (32) – Resident of Saragaon, Mungeli; currently living in BSUP Colony, Kathadih
  • Naseeb Khan (29) – Resident of Dharseevan, Raipur; currently living in BSUP Colony, Kathadih
  • Sunny Chhedaiya (26) – Resident of Nehru Nagar, Raipur
  • Preetam Vibhar (18) – Resident of Kalibadi, Raipur
  • Nargis Fatima (26) – Wife of Naseeb Khan, Dharseevan; currently living in BSUP Colony, Kathadih
  • Arun Kumar Suna (40) – Resident of Balangir, Odisha

Police investigations are ongoing to uncover the wider drug trafficking network.
