Shah on Three-Day Chhattisgarh Visit From Today; to Chair Central Zonal Council Meeting

Raipur: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Chhattisgarh on Sunday for a three-day official visit covering the Raipur and Bastar divisions, during which he will review security operations, developmental initiatives, and welfare programmes in the state.

According to the schedule, Shah will depart from Ahmedabad on a special Indian Air Force aircraft at 6.25 pm and arrive at Swami Vivekananda Airport Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur at 8.10 pm. From the airport, he will travel by road to the Mayfair Resort, where he will stay overnight. Security has been tightened across key routes, the hotel premises, and event venues in view of the visit.

Dial-112 expansion across all districts

On Monday morning, the Union Home Minister will visit the Police Training School in Raipur, where he is scheduled to flag off 400 new emergency response vehicles between 10.40 am and 10.50 am to strengthen the state’s emergency response mechanism.

The Dial-112 emergency service, which was earlier operational in 16 districts, will now be extended to all 33 districts of Chhattisgarh. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said the expansion would ensure immediate emergency assistance within the jurisdiction of every police station in the state.

Mobile forensic units for every district

During the visit, the state government will also launch mobile forensic units for all 33 districts to strengthen scientific investigation capabilities. Equipped with modern forensic tools, these units are expected to facilitate preliminary investigations at crime scenes, improve evidence collection, and speed up criminal investigations.

Bastar development and security review

After the Raipur programme, Shah will leave for Jagdalpur at 11.05 am and reach Maa Danteshwari Airport Maa Danteshwari Airport at 11.50 am. From there, he will travel by Border Security Force helicopter to Netanar village in Bastar district.

Between 12.20 pm and 12.50 pm, the Union Home Minister will inaugurate a Jan Suvidha Kendra at Netanar to provide administrative and government services to tribal residents in the region.

Later, Shah will visit Amar Vatika Amar Vatika in Jagdalpur at 1.25 pm to pay tribute to security personnel who lost their lives in anti-Naxal operations.

Following lunch, he will chair a high-level review meeting at the Badal Academy with senior officials and public representatives to assess security operations and welfare initiatives in the Bastar division. Government departments will also present reports on infrastructure, education, healthcare, and rehabilitation measures during a meeting at Hotel Grand Ambition.

In the evening, Shah will interact with Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and workers before attending “Bastar ke Sang”, a cultural programme showcasing tribal art and folk dance traditions at the Badal Academy.

Central Zonal Council meeting on Tuesday

On Tuesday, the Union Home Minister will chair the 26th meeting of the Central Zonal Council in Jagdalpur from 11 am to 2 pm.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, along with the chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, will participate in the meeting. Senior officials from the Union government and member states are expected to deliberate on interstate coordination, regional infrastructure development, public welfare delivery, and administrative cooperation.

Shah is scheduled to address a press conference between 2.50 pm and 3.30 pm before departing for Delhi from Jagdalpur at 3.45 pm on a special flight bound for Palam Air Force Station.
