RAIPUR
A Dial 112 police team rescued a ten-day-old infant abandoned near Chirkuthin Mata temple on Monet Road in Mandir Hasaud on Sunday morning.
The police response team received an alert around 6:37 am about an abandoned baby left at the spot by an unidentified person. Upon reaching the location, the team secured the newborn and shifted the child to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Mandir Hasaud for immediate medical examination.
Constable R. Rajesh Yadav and driver Tikendra Sahu from the Mandir Hasaud Tiger-1 response unit handled the rescue operation.
The infant has been admitted to the hospital’s child ward and is currently under observation. Police have alerted the relevant child welfare department to arrange long-term care for the baby.
An investigation is underway to trace the person who abandoned the child.
