Major IPS reshuffle in Chhattisgarh: Pawan Deo gets Home Guards, Kalluri returns to Police Housing Corporation

The Chhattisgarh government on Monday ordered a major reshuffle of 31 IPS officers, assigning new responsibilities to several senior officers across the state. The Home Department issued the transfer and posting order as part of the administrative rejig.

Pawan Deo, a 1992-batch IPS officer and former Chairman and Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Police Housing Corporation, has been appointed Director General of Home Guards, Civil Defence and Fire Services.

Gurjinder Pal Singh, a 1994-batch IPS officer serving as Director General at Police Headquarters, has been posted as Director General of Training and Director of the State Police Academy.

Another key change is the return of S R P Kalluri, also a 1994-batch officer, to the Police Housing Corporation. He has been moved from Police Headquarters and appointed Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Police Housing Corporation.

Pradeep Gupta, a 1995-batch IPS officer, has been appointed Additional Director General of Police (Administration and Selection) at Police Headquarters and given additional charge as Director of Prosecution.

Vivekanand, a 1996-batch IPS officer currently handling Naxal Operations, SIB, STF and CAF, has been assigned the additional responsibility of ADGP (Finance, Planning and Management).

Among other senior-level changes, Deepanshu Vijay Kabra (1997 batch) has been given additional charge as ADGP, Railways and ADGP, Traffic, while Amit Kumar (1998 batch) will additionally handle the post of ADGP, Anti-Narcotics Task Force.

Dr Anand Chhabra, a 2001-batch IPS officer, has been posted as ADGP, Technical Services, Dial 112 and Telecommunications.

At the Inspector General level, Ankit Kumar Garg (2004 batch) has been given additional charge as IG, Anti-Narcotics Task Force and IG, SIA.

Dhruv Gupta (2005 batch) has been posted as IG, CID, CCTNS and SCRB, while Prashant Kumar Agrawal (2008 batch) will take charge as IG, S4C and Technical Services.

Milna Kurre, also a 2008-batch IPS officer, has been appointed IG, Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF).

The reshuffle covers key assignments in police administration, training, technical services, traffic, railways, anti-narcotics operations, prosecution and the armed force.
