Raipur Municipal Corporation to offer 5% rebate in property tax till 30 September

Raipur
Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) commissioner Sambit Mishra has directed all 10 zone commissioners to launch a special revenue recovery drive from 16 to 30 September across the city. The drive aims to maximize property tax collection for the current financial year while offering a 5% rebate to taxpayers who settle their dues within the stipulated period.
Special revenue recovery camps will operate daily from 10 am to 5:30 pm in wards and areas with low default rates or high collection potential. A dedicated camp will also be set up near the entrance of the RMC headquarters, staffed by personnel from the revenue and market departments to assist taxpayers with various dues, including property tax, water charges, user charges, and market fees.
RMC commissioner Sambit Mishra instructed zone commissioners to nominate a nodal officer in each zone to oversee operations, assist citizens, and record daily collections. He emphasized using multiple communication channels—including public announcements at the ward level, pamphlets, banners, hoardings, social media, and WhatsApp chatbots—to inform residents about the rebate and camp schedules.
Zone officials have been asked to contact pending tax defaulters individually through phone calls, WhatsApp messages, and personal visits to encourage timely payment. Zone commissioners will personally monitor the daily progress of the camps, and daily collection reports will be submitted to the revenue department at the RMC headquarters. Online payment options will also be promoted to ensure swift transactions.
