Newlywed Daughters-in-law to Receive Rs 1,000 Monthly : Recent Brides Also Eligible for Mahtari Vandan Scheme, Announces CM

Married women in Chhattisgarh will now receive benefits under the Mahtari Vandan Scheme. The state government will provide Rs 1,000 per month to newlywed daughters-in-law as well. Until now, women who had recently gotten married were unable to benefit from this scheme, but fresh application forms will now be made available for them. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai himself.
On Thursday, during the third phase of the Chief Minister’s Good Governance Festival, CM Sai visited Mathmaur village in the Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district. He held a chaupal (village gathering) under a mahua tree in the middle of the village and interacted directly with local residents. The CM stated that newlywed women will soon begin receiving benefits from the Mahtari Vandan Scheme. He also instructed village sarpanches to send lists of eligible families for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
During the chaupal, the CM sought feedback from villagers on ration shop operations, the Mahtari Vandan Scheme, and the PMAY. He asked women if they were receiving the Rs 1,000 monthly benefit on time. CM Sai clarified that newly married women who meet the eligibility criteria will also soon receive benefits under the scheme.
He announced the establishment of a 33/11 KV electricity substation in Kuwanpur. Additionally, new roads will be constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana from Fuljhar to Chandela, Tilauli to Darritola, Sanbora to Pando, Kuwanpur to Gajar, and Patpartola to Chandela.
The CM approved the construction of a building for the Naib Tehsildar’s office in Kuwanpur and directed the SDM to organize a land settlement camp to resolve pending revenue cases. Approval was also granted for a community hall in Mathmaur. A 100-bed hospital has been approved for construction in Janakpur to ensure that people in this tribal region won’t have to travel far for medical treatment.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai announced that within a year, banking facilities will be made available in all 11,000+ panchayats of Chhattisgarh. He emphasized that the state government is introducing new reforms to eliminate corruption. Revolutionary changes have been made in land registration processes to curb corruption. He also announced ₹81.90 crore for developing Gumeti Ghat as a tourist spot and ₹45.42 lakh for the development of Sarna-Devgudi. Furthermore, he approved ₹48.26 crore for various roads and bridges across the region.
